Kerala is in the midst of an unprecedented flood havoc caused by torrential monsoon rains. Catastrophic landslides and deadly flash floods that have swept away many villages. This natural disaster has caused immeasurable misery and devastation; many agencies including the army, air force, and navy along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are being called for search and rescue operations alongside local fishermen communities. It is estimated that 370 lives were lost and about 315,000 people are in about 2000+ relief camps. Thousands of homes were totally destroyed and many more were damaged. For the first time in history, 80 dams in the state had to be opened.

The Indian Association of Nashville (IAN) alongside the Kerala Association of Nashville (KAN) is taking initiative in leading the relief efforts. We request all regional associations to make generous contributions to stand up to the cause.

We also request regional associations to create awareness about this disaster though your email list and other social media.

The Indian community is a powerful demographic. We come together spontaneously, or perhaps, instinctively at times of tragedy. We always be on the same page when it comes to our core principles. Together we can make a difference.

The amount thus received will be made over to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) which is 100% transparent and accountable.

Please make your donations though IAN/KAN link below:
